Felix Baumgartner – Free Falling from the Edge of Space

Conquering the skies and breaking new records in flight is something that has been done by humans since the first aircraft designed by the Wright Brothers made history. Newer types of aircraft followed in the years after, spurred on by the achievements of the Wright brothers, and today we have a whole industry that enables people to get around the world by plane easily, and this is made possible by these early pioneers as well as modern day ones like this aviation parts suppliers https://www.aerfin.com/beyond-fleet-services/beyond-engine/

Whilst conquering the skies in aircraft is one thing, on 14th October 2012 a different kind of record was being broken high in the skies. Felix Baumgartner, a daredevil with a head for heights, was hoping to become the person who would perform the highest ever jump, leaping from the edge of space.

Of course this was a feat full of risks, and needed a lot of skill and planning to be able to pull it off successfully. On the day, he stepped out of the capsule that lifted him 24 miles into the sky and got ready to jump out, in a fall that would be so fast he would be the first human to jump and break the sound barrier.

As people all over the world watched the broadcast with baited breath, and saw Felix Baumgartner successfully achieve his goal – leaping from the edge of space – and surviving it!
