Rossmore Forest Park – This is a beautiful place to walk and has many wild residents within it – from otters and foxes to the many birds such as flycatchers and cuckoos. There are various trails where you can wander through woodlands or explore ancient sites, such as a tomb dating back thousands of years.

Peters Lake – In the centre of the town of Monaghan lies the beautiful tranquil St Peters lake. See the waterfowl and revel in the peace and tranquillity of the area as you enjoy a stroll around the lake.
